3 Ways You Can Help Ukraine

When Russia invaded Ukraine, many people in that country lost their homes and their jobs. As the war rages, children are being displaced at a frightening rate. According to Unicef, more than half of the country’s population of children now live in refugee camps.

Those with Ukrainian roots, such as real estate investor Stefan Soloviev, are devastated by what’s happening in Ukraine. It’s an issue that affects everyone. While you may not be able to travel to Ukraine or other countries to help those refugees, there are ways you can help Ukraine from home. Here’s how you can help Ukraine.

1. Donate Money

Stefan Soloviev recently donated $1 million to Americares, an organization that has emergency response teams in Poland and Romania. The organization supports health services for those families affected by the crisis in Ukraine. Americares uses donation money to purchase and distribute supplies to partners in these countries.

There are many organizations providing relief in the form of food and clothing as well as medicine and shelter to Ukrainian refugees. You can help by sending a donation to one of these organizations.

2. Keep Informed

By staying informed of what’s going on in Ukraine, you can inform others and give those who are suffering a voice. Read online newspapers, such as Forbes.com for up-to-date information about the war. Also, follow Ukrainian news sources. They have people on the ground and can provide you with an accurate picture of what’s going on.

3. Get Active

Collect new or gently used blankets and clothing as well as supplies to donate to Ukrainians. Search online for drop-off sites in your area. Also, speak with your representatives and voice your concerns about the war in Ukraine. Write essays and post them in your local newspapers.

Attend cultural fundraising events that will help Ukraine. If there aren’t any such events in your area, consider organizing one. You could also create a GoFundMe page to raise money to help Ukrainian refugees. Or volunteer for local organizations that provide support for Ukraine. You can help at charity events and other efforts to raise money for the Ukrainians.

The war in Ukraine is devastating. Many people have lost their homes and the ability to support themselves. You can help. By giving money and raising public awareness as well as donating supplies and volunteering with local organizations, you can help the people of this war-torn country in a powerful way.
